Senior Technician / Millwright

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technician/Millwright to join our team in the fabrication of water and wastewater treatment systems. This role requires strong technical expertise, hands-on problem-solving, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.

Key responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble water and wastewater treatment plants, using a wide range of materials including stainless steel, mild steel, polypropylene, PVC, and HDPE plastics.
• Perform precision machining tasks such as lathe and milling machine operation, fitting and turning, and toolmaking.
• Carry out plastic and metal welding, including welding surface preparation.
• Assemble and install PVC and HDPE piping systems.
• Contribute to general plant assembly, ensuring high-quality workmanship and attention to detail.
• Collaborate with colleagues across different skill levels, sharing knowledge and ensuring project deadlines are met.

Core skills & experience

• Machining & Toolmaking: Proficient in lathe, milling machine, bandsaw, and bench grinder use. Capable of fabricating components from scratch with precision.
• Fabrication Expertise: Strong background in plastic and steel fabrication, with a deep understanding of material properties and behaviors.
• Welding: Skilled in both metal and plastic welding (Polypropylene, PVC, HDPE).
• General Assembly: Experienced in plant assembly, highly resourceful in solving mechanical challenges.
• Power Tools: Proficient with general workshop tools (drills, grinders, etc.).

Additional competencies

• Roof crane operation and rigging
• Forklift operation
• Basic electrical system troubleshooting
