Watericon built a water treatment plant that includes duty/standby feed pumps, chemical dosing, media filtration and UV disinfection. Dosing of a pH correcting chemical and flocculant was included before the filters to enhance filtration effectiveness. Inline mixers are included after the flocculant dosing and pH adjustment dosing to ensure the chemicals are well-mixed before the filter bank.

Mixed media (sand and anthracite) was selected for filtration to filter out both larger and finer particles. The media filters have timer-based control valves to control the backwash of each filter. Three filters were arranged in parallel on the skid to ensure that product water can be produced, even when one filter is in backwash. Both chemical and UV disinfection are included with the UV lamps arranged in a duty/standby configuration.
